A Categorial Framework for Composition in Multiple Linguistic Domains
نویسندگان
چکیده
We describe a computational framework for a grammar architecture in which different linguistic domains such as morphology, syntax, and semantics are treated not as separate components but compositional domains. Word and phrase formation are modeled as uniform processes contributing to the derivation of the semantic form. The morpheme, as well as the lexeme, has lexical representation in the form of semantic content, tactical constraints, and phonological realization. The model is based on Combinatory Categorial Grammars.

A Computational Framework for Composition in Multiple Linguistic Domains
We describe a computational framework for a grammar architecture in which different linguistic domains such as morphology, syntax, and semantics are treated not as separate components but compositional domains. The framework is based on Combinatory Categorial Grammars and it uses the morpheme as the basic building block of the categorial lexicon. 1 I n t r o d u c t i o n In this paper, we addr...
متن کاملBidirectional Natural Language Parsing using Streams and Counterstreams by Keith A . Bonawitz
This thesis investigates the bidirectional exchange of information between linguistic and non-linguistic semantic inputs containing ambiguities. Such exchange is critical to Cognitively Complete Systems, in which collections of related representations and processes cooperate for their mutual problem-solving benefit. The exchange paradigm of reconciliation is defined, in which ambiguities and ga...

متن کاملApplicative Abstract Categorial Grammars in Full Swing
Recently introduced Applicative Abstract Categorial Grammars (AACG) extend the Abstract Categorial Grammar (ACG) formalism to make it more suitable for semantic analyses while preserving all of its benefits for syntactic analyses. The surface form of a sentence, the abstract (tecto-) form, as well as the meaning are all uniformly represented in AACG as typed terms, or trees. The meaning of a se...
متن کاملText Parsing for Sign Language Generation with Combinatory Categorial Grammar
In this paper, we propose a method to convert a written sentence in spoken language into a suitable representation in sign language within the framework of Combinatory Categorial Grammar (CCG). The representation reflects the multi-channel nature of sign language performance, including manual and non-manual linguistic signals of multiple channels and information about their coordination. We sho...
